Bukittinggi Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in Indonesia. At first during the Dutch occupation, it's a Flower Garden "Strom Park". Because
of the strong Dutch rule in Indonesia, including in Bukittinggi City bring an influence on the direction of change and the Dutch Government
policy towards this flower garden. This can be seen by rights have been granted for the development of flower gardens to interested parties to managed and develope it. Therefore a Dutch veterinarian in Bukittinggi city at that time, namely, DVM.
